In 2023 the National Talent Academy for Film & Television placed thirty-two shadows across twenty-four productions, with paid placement for Producers, Directors, Writers, and Script Editors. These placements spanned between two and eight weeks in writers' rooms, development, prep, production and post-production across Ireland.  

The NTA Film & Television Drama are seeking applications for shadowing positions on upcoming feature films and television drama.   

We are accepting applications from emerging and established Producers, Directors, Creative Producers, Writers, Script Editors and Script Development Executives, who wish to upskill and avail of a shadow placement.  

This opportunity is not open to new or entry talent.  

These applications will be open on a rolling basis, with the objective of gathering a panel of available shadows for the NTA Film & TV and productions to recruit from. Depending on the requirement of the production, a shortlist of applicants may be called for interviews. Other applicants will be kept on file for upcoming opportunities. 

The successful candidates will work alongside experienced writers, producers and directors during key times in development, production and post-production, gaining direct insight into the process.  

Each position will vary but these are paid production roles and may require in-person days on set.
