Film & TV Drama Shadowing: Producers and Creative Producers 

 

The National Talent Academy for Film & Television is seeking applications for shadowing positions for emerging and established producers on upcoming feature films and television drama. 

This application will be open on a rolling basis, with the objective to gather a panel of available shadows for the NTA Film & TV and interested productions to recruit from. 

Each position will vary but these positions are paid production roles and may require in-person days on set. The successful candidates will work alongside writers, producer and experienced directors during key times in the development, production and post-production, gaining direct insight into the process. 

A contribution for time commitment, travel and accommodation will be provided from the NTAFT allowing individuals to meet personal financial obligations while gaining unique access to the industry, practical experience and career development opportunities. 

 

Who can apply:

Emerging and established Producers and Creative Producers who are habitually resident in the regions (outside Dublin/Wicklow) and/or who identify as diverse with the demonstrable level of relevant experience. (please see our Diversity & Inclusion Policy )

  • Applicants must have previously produced at least two funded live action short films (at least one of which has been funded by a public body or broadcaster)  

  • And/or produced a feature film and/or soap and/or serval high-end commercials  

  • And/or have worked in the Production Department across multiple projects with a clear interest in developing a career as a producer. 

  • Producers and Creative Producers who have recently been part of the Screen Ireland’s Advance Producers Course or an international equivalent.  

  • Applicants must be over eighteen and be out of education. 

  • This opportunity is not open to new or entry talent. 

  • Applicants must reside in Ireland

Note that applications from more experienced Producers from other fields (e.g. Animation) who are looking to build on their body of work and move into a drama may also apply.

This application will be open on a rolling basis, with the goal to gather a panel of interested applicates. 

This is an open application process, however in some instances the NTA: Film & TV may work with industry stakeholders including the Screen Guilds to identify Talent who are ready to progress and encourage them to apply. 

The database will close for submission in September 30th 2024 

 

Selection Process: 

The applications will be assessed by a panel to include representatives of the National Talent Academy for Film & Television, and an independent external assessor(s).  

Depending on the requirement of the production, a shortlist of applicants will be called for interviews. Other applicants will be kept on file for upcoming opportunities. 

Please note there is no guarantee you will be offered a position. The type and quantity of opportunities is production lead and out of the control of National Talent Academy Film & TV’s. We will host your information, provide it when suitable and if selected we will fund the placement, but again there is no guarantee by being on the database that you will be offered a placement.
