Please note by registering your interest you are NOT applying for a course.  This is to gauge the interest of crew in attending this type of training.  We would also like to hear what elements you would like to see in this area so that we know the training is meeting crew needs as directly expressed by the crew.

Training Proposal:

These courses run by the National Talent Academies: Film & TV Crew Academy East would aid the participant to support a safer and more well-informed set.

Possible course options would include

ONLINE

  • eLearning PHECC First Aid Response Course - The blended eLearning and Classroom PHECC First Aid Response Course offers a flexible and effective way to learn essential first-aid skills.
  • eLearning Manual Handling Course Theory and Practical – This online Manual Handling Training lets you learn at your own pace, complete a practical assessment from home, and get certified fast—no travel needed.
  • eLearning Fire Safety Awareness – This course is crafted to enhance awareness of fire hazards in the workplace. Covering topics such as fire extinguisher usage and essential safety procedures,
  • eLearning Abrasive Wheels Operator Course – This is a professional certification for personnel operating equipment such as Con Saws, Angle Grinders, and Bench Grinders.
  • eLearning Chemical Awareness Course – This training equips you with essential knowledge for ensuring personal safety when working with chemical hazards.

IN-PERSON

  • Manual Handling - This training provides the technical competence to identify musculoskeletal risks, apply biomechanical principles to lifting, and implement ergonomic controls to prevent workplace injuries.
  • Working at Heights & Harness Safety – This course is designed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to work safely at heights and utilise fall arrest equipment effectively.
  • Chemical Awareness & Spill Control - This course is aimed towards any individual who would have the potential of being exposed to chemicals in the workplace.
  • Abrasive Wheels Operator - Provides participants with the knowledge, and skills to enable operative to use abrasive wheels safely including all aspects of the correct mounting, setting and use of abrasive wheels.
  • QQI Safety Representative Course (Level 5) – This course is designed to equip employees with the statutory knowledge to represent their colleagues on health and safety matters.
  • Nitrogen & Purging – This training provides comprehensive instruction on nitrogen purging principles, methods, and safety considerations.
Participant Profile:

This training would be aimed at professional crew members actively working in the screen sector.
