What is The National Talent Academies Short Film Fund?
If you are already *established in the animation industry, but have not yet had the opportunity to write or direct on a short film, this new initiative from the NTA could be for you.
The National Talent Academies Short Film Fund is targeted at talent who wish to move into a role as a Writer and / or Director with a budget of €13,000. In addition to carefully tailored mentoring, training, and workshops delivered by experienced industry professionals. This fund is heavily focused on skills development and supporting you in expanding your skillset, enabling you to take on new, key roles in the animation industry.
The selected filmmaking teams will start production in March 2024 with final delivery of a short by November 2024.

Who can apply?
Applicants must apply as a team made up of one or two individuals wishing to upskill or move into the roles of Writer and/or Director, along with a Producer. The Producer must have some experience in producing animated content.
We encourage applications from diverse teams across Ireland. The NTA are committed to breaking down barriers and providing a platform for voices from regional talent and communities that are currently under-represented within the screen sector.

It is recommended that all applicants take part in our online information session via Zoom on January 19th at approx. 5.30PM. The deadline to RSVP for the information session is Jan 18th at 3PM

Next Steps
A shortlist of teams will be invited for interview by an expert panel, with up to three animation teams being selected to participate in the scheme.
