Course Profile: The boot camp will be designed and led by an experienced stunt coordinator on the Wayfinders Production. This boot camp is designed to provide comprehensive training to help participants develop the skills needed to perform screen fighting for background, safely and effectively for The Wayfinders’ and ongoing productions. This program balances technical skill development with practical experience, ensuring participants leave with the confidence and knowledge to perform screen fights safely and effectively.
Program Content:
Skills and techniques essential for Background Artists fighting on Screen. The areas of focus are as follows:
Importance of safety in screen combat
Warm-up exercises to prevent injury
Stance and positioning for camera
Attacks and defence - unarmed
Attacks and defence – with weapons
Facial expressions and body language
Acting the scene and incorporating it into the action
Choreographing a simple fight scene
Maintaining continuity and rhythm
Adjusting intensity based on the shot
Multi-attack combinations
Working in confined spaces and environmental interactions
Participant Profile: Participants must have experience in one of the skills or competitions below.
Fighting skills – Martial arts, Boxing, Wrestling, Fencing, Historical combat, Stage combat
Performance skills – Dancing, Circus, Acting
Sports competition – Hockey, GAA, Hurling, Football, Rugby
