Workshop Profile: 

The National Talent Academies with lead partner Raising Films Ireland are delighted to be partnering with Screen Guilds of Ireland,TU Dublin and Screen Producers Ireland on the next iteration of our Job-Share Programme.  The 2025 programme consists of info sessions and workshops with ReelTime Media, and a workplace support initiative for 6 x Job Share couples.  The programme is designed to empower employers and employees to make job-sharing a reality in the Irish screen industry.

Childcare will be available for parents who wish to attend the workshop - further details in the registration form. 

Workshop content:

Role Analysis - an opportunity to reflect on your own role and methods of working so as to ensure finding and working with a job share partner is a considered and effective experience.

Finding Job Share Partners – create pitches to make contacts in a supportive environment with other crew interested in job sharing.

Building a Partnership for a Successful Job Share – the practicalities of managing your job share.  Learn the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to develop and maintain an effective job-share partnership in the screen industry. The focus is on creating agreements tailored to each role, leveraging technology for handovers, learning from case studies, and gaining insights on pitching job-share arrangements to employers.

Interactive Discussions and Q&A – talk to your peers to share insights, concerns, and strategies.  There will be an open floor for questions, allowing participants to seek advice and guidance from Michelle Reynolds.

Next Steps – receive guidance on the next steps for establishing job-sharing arrangements and hear about our workplace support initiative.

Participant Profile: 

This workshop is aimed at crew in the screen industry who are looking for information on how job sharing can work on productions, ensuring the screen sector retains talent and offers crew a sustainable career. 

We strongly recommend you invite others to register whom you think you might be interested in job sharing and/or are someone you could see yourself job sharing with.

Our work is grounded in research and informed by decades of industry experience. ReelTime’s job‑sharing Co‑Directors Michelle Reynolds and Rowan Aust met when they were Co‑Directors of Share My Telly Job(SMTJ). 

We work across industry and academia and our recent collaborations include: ScreenSkills; the Screen Industry Growth Network (SIGN) at the University of York; the Universities of Bournemouth and Nottingham; Screen Alliance North. We have contributed to work with Bectu, Ofcom, Channel 4, Channel 5, Netflix, the DCMS and sit on the Coalition for Change.

Michelle Reynolds 

Michelle has devised and implemented multiple job‑share schemes across the industry and has supported many people to stay in the industry in happier, healthier ways. She is a qualified trainer and leads on ReelTime Media’s training.

Michelle Reynolds joined Share My Telly Job following a 17-year career as a Producer and Director in Factual and Entertainment Television in the UK and the US. Highlights included House Hunters International for Leopard USA, 100-Year-Old Driving School for RDF and Deal or No Deal for Endemol.

Michelle then went on to work as the High-End TV Manager for ScreenSkills, where she became involved with the world of TV drama and ran several successful training programmes, including a Return-to-Work scheme with Film London.

Michelle now works solely for ReelTime Media and is passionate about promoting job-sharing as the best way of keeping talented, experienced, and diverse freelancers in the industry.
