As part of Flourish, the talent and career development programme, we are excited to host our first public event -FEARLESS PITCHING with award winning and critically acclaimed filmmaker David Keating.
This workshop designed to introduce an easily adaptable approach that includes specific preparation techniques that will allow you play to your strengths and to talk about your work so that people listen - and you get results.

Tutor Profile:
DAVID KEATING is An award winning and critically acclaimed filmmaker, David has written and directed several feature films in Ireland and internationally including THE LAST OF THE HIGH KINGS (with Jared Leto, Catherine O'Hara, Christina Ricci and Gabriel Byrne); and WAKE WOOD (with Timothy Spall, Eva Birthistle and Aidan Gillen) His writing credits include INTO THE WEST (Ellen Barkin and Gabriel Byrne). He has lived and worked in the US, the UK and has been involved in co-productions across Europe and has worked as a writer on studio projects.
David is a lecturer and project mentor delivering training for filmmakers through Screen Ireland; BAFTA; the BFI, Directors UK; and at the National Film School, IADT, Dun Laoghaire, where he is Lecturer in Film Directing.
In addition to his own film work, David is also the Irish Lead on the FilmEU project C-ACCELERATE tasked with developing radical creativity. C-ACCELERATE an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
Recently, David has become passionate about working in the field of virtual reality and XR.
‘In order to get potential collaborators excited about a project (producers, financiers, actors, buyers etc.), we need to talk about our work in ways that make people want to get involved. Unfortunately, anxiety and general un-readiness can make us sound dull and hard to follow when we pitch our projects - even though we are passionate and excited about making them.’ - David Keating on pitching a project
Dates/Duration:
This course will take place in Cork City on November Saturday 4th 2023 from (approx.) 9.30m to 12.15pm.
Selected participants will receive a confirmed email with the location of the event.
Who Can Apply:
This session is recommended for new & emerging, directors, producers and screenwriters across all genres.
Additional Filmmakers of all skill and career levels interested in learning about the pitching are welcome to apply.
How To Apply:
Applicants must RSVP by completing the quick online registration form, linked HERE
This form will ask you to supply a short professional biography or detailed summary of work to date. This is needed for the tutor to have a better understanding of the profile and skill level of the participants.

Selection Process:
Once a RSVP is submitted you places in confirmed, participants will receive a confirmed email with the location of the event by EOD on November 2nd.
