EWC hosted by Fís Éireann / Screen Ireland and the NTA for Film & TV, invites you to join us for an evening with Lord David Puttnam .
David Puttnam film’s have won multiple Oscars, BAFTAs and the Palme d’Or. David is currently Chair of Atticus Education and President of The National Film and Television School.
As a producer, he has brought such gems to our screens as Midnight Express (1978), Chariots of Fire (1981), Local Hero (1983), The Killing Fields (1984), The Mission (1986) and War of the Buttons (1994), stories which have touched many of us and are now and forever locked in our collective memory.
As one of the most prolific filmmakers of his generation, David Puttnam will speak to European identity and original voices. He will share his views on the responsibility creators, and more broadly our media, bear towards their audience, most especially in an era of huge global challenges.

European Writers Club is a new program, funded by the European Union.
The aim is all about inspiring and encouraging collaboration between creators, writers, producers and broadcasters by gathering them throughout the year and around Europe at the occasion of our boosting sessions.
This April, the European Writers Club will gather for a week in Cork with 12 experienced TV Series Writers, 6 producers and 12 heads of drama representing different public and private broadcasters and local platforms.
