Day 1:  10:00am – 4:30pm

Day  2:  10:00am – 4:30pm

This course is run by the National Talent Academies: Film & TV Crew Academy South,  developed in collaboration with the Irish Screen Make-up and Effects Guild. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to apply facial hair as required by the Film & TV Drama industry. Tools and materials will be provided, successful applicants will be advised on what essentials they need to bring to the course. 

Course Content:

• The history of Facial Hair
• Male Grooming
• The materials and tools needed in the application of Facial Hair
• The application and removal of lace pieces
• The process of laying on and removal of Facial Hair

Course Outcomes:

Participants will come away with a broad knowledge of the history of facial hair on screen.  They will be familiar with the products, tools and materials used to apply and remove facial hair. They will be familiar with the introductory skills required to apply and remove facial hair.

Participant Profile:

This 2 Day Facial Hair Application course is aimed at junior make-up artists working in the in the Film and TV Drama Industry.

Selection on courses/programmes will be based on quality of application and industry experience relevant to the course and participant profile.   We do not accept CVs so please make sure you outline all relevant experience in the application form.

Tutor Profiles:

Chloe Bourke has over 15 years of experience working within the make-up department in Film and Television. She trained under industry professionals at IADT. 

Chloe has a strong passion for facial hair and an extensive professional background working on period productions such as Neverland, Vikings, Ripper St, A Dangerous Fortune, and Vita and Virginia. 

Chloe moved to London to study barbering to extend her knowledge of facial hair.
