Film & TV Crew Academy East partners with AIMICI to bring free, Screen Skills UK-accredited Responsible AI training to crew in the Irish sector.
Supporting the sector to engage responsibly with AI

As AI becomes more present across the screen sector, Film & TV Crew Academy East wants to make sure crews have the opportunity to understand it properly. Our focus is on supporting people to engage with these tools knowledgeably, ethically and responsibly — and to make informed decisions about their use. Skilled crew and the craft they bring remain central to how great productions get made.

Introducing AIMICI training

That’s why Film & TV Crew Academy East is offering free places on AIMICI’s Responsible AI courses — the first AI training of its kind to be accredited by Screen Skills UK. Designed specifically for film and TV, the training builds lasting competencies rather than tool-specific tricks that quickly date and is aligned with national AI standards, including those from the Alan Turing Institute and Skills England. It was developed with Bournemouth University and UCL and shaped by more than 50 experienced screen professionals.

There are two self-led, online courses:

  • Level 1: Responsible AI for Film & TV 101 (1 hour): A shared foundation for everyone in film and TV, whatever your role or experience — covering core AI concepts, responsible use, and how to recognise risk.
  • Level 2: Advanced Responsible AI Certifications (5-6 hours, 4-5 modules): Certified paths for heads of department, line producers, AI leads and supervisors, covering use cases, tool assessment, risk and governance. Level 1 is included, and fast-track Level 2 certifications are available for Film or TV independently.

The courses form part of our Software Skills Series for Screen Sector Trainees and our Advanced Software Skills Programme for Experienced Crew.
