Earlier this month, NTA Film & TV and NTA Crew Academy West proudly participated in Pathways 2025, the education and career guidance conference which brings together students, educators and industry professionals to share their experiences and guidance.
Taking place in the Galmont Hotel in Galway City, and hosted by the Galway Advertiser, Pathways was an opportunity for the National Talent Academies to discuss career paths in the screen industry with secondary school students and offer insights and advice to them as they plan their creative careers.
We met students from Transition Year up to Leaving Cert and discussed with them the opportunities and support available to them through the National Talent Academies when they leave school and might be considering a career in the Film and TV industry.
We spoke to the students about the diverse career paths available to them both on and off set, from directing, writing and producing, to camera, lighting, sound and art department. Also, we shared information on workshops, training programmes, mentoring opportunities and industry entry routes that the students can explore once they leave school.
This was a fantastic opportunity for the Academies to connect with the younger generation of filmmakers and crew as they consider their first steps in their careers.
