The National Talent Academies (NTA) are delighted to return to the Galway Film Fleadh and Film Fair this July with a packed programme of panel discussions, networking opportunities and industry events aimed at connecting and supporting creative talent across Ireland’s screen sector.
Job Share Panel – Friday 11 July at 10:00am
NTA Crew will host Job Share 2.0: Progress, Possibilities, and What’s Next, a panel discussion exploring the evolution of job sharing in the screen industry. The panel will be moderated by Stephen Fagan (Studio Meala) and includes Jess Whelehan (SGI), Ananta Kaur (SPI), Aisling Malone (Raising Films Ireland) and Jade Travers (NTA Crew East), with one more speaker to be confirmed.
This session will be of particular interest to crew members and employers exploring more flexible and inclusive working practices.
Producers’ Panel and Networking Event – Saturday 12 July at 4:00pm
Building on the success of their new Mentorship Programme for producers, NTA Film and TV and the WRAP Commission will host a Producers’ Panel and Networking Event featuring both mentors and mentees currently participating in the scheme.
This discussion will highlight the value of peer-to-peer learning, knowledge-sharing and creative collaboration, while the NTA and WRAP teams will outline future opportunities and support available for producers.
The panel runs from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by an informal networking drinks reception until 6:00pm.
Short Film Exchange – Sunday 13 July from 2:00pm
In partnership with the Galway Film Fair, we will present a Short Film Exchange for emerging and established creatives working in live-action short film. The event will feature five-minute one-to-one meetings where selected writers, writer-directors and producers can pitch their projects to potential collaborators.
Meetings will run from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Applications are now open. The deadline to apply is Mon 30th June at 12 noon.
NTA Networking Reception – Sunday 13 July at 4:30pm
To round off the weekend, the National Talent Academies invite creatives working across film, television, crew, animation and visual effects to join them for their annual Networking Reception at the Galway Film Fair.
This relaxed event is open to all levels of experience and offers the chance to meet the NTA teams, find out about upcoming training and events, and connect with fellow creatives from across the industry.
RSVP is required for all Fair events. As places are limited and demand is high, early registration is advised. RSVP details and further information on each event can be found on the NTA or Galway Film Fleadh websites.
Lastly, in partnership with Raising Films Ireland we are proud to introduce a pilot Childminding Service at the Galway Film Fair 2025. This limited pilot service aims to support parents and carers attending industry events, with the long-term goal of creating a more inclusive, sustainable and accessible screen sector.
Registration for this pilot service opens on Wednesday 25 June at 11:00am
The Galway Film Fleadh runs from 8 to 13 July 2025. For the full programme of screenings and industry events, visit www.galwayfilmfleadh.com
