Working to support the marketing and communications of the National Talent Academies

The National Talent Academy Network, a Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland initiative, has been established to develop a highly skilled talent and crew base nationwide, across film, television and animation. There are currently six academies within the network, all focused on attracting next generation talent with a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion. Each academy will organise approximately 10-15 activities and courses per year. 

The National Talent Academy Network is seeking to recruit a freelance marketing and communications service or agency to support the Academies with its work – in particular, strongly driving new and relevant participants to sign up for training courses and other activities.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are included within the brief:

  • Create and execute a high-quality marketing and communications strategy to promote the work and activity of the National Talent Academy network. 
  • Drive and increase the conversion of online course sign-ups and bookings across the National Talent Academy Network website and social media platforms. 
  • ​​​Manage all social media platforms for the National Talent Academy Network (each individual academy will post their own social content) 
  • ​Create and manage content for the National Talent Academy Network website.​​ 
  • Create and deliver a monthly digital newsletter for the National Talent Academy Network. 
  • Generate local and national press opportunities for the work of the National Talent Academy Network, and across individual Academy activity. 
  • Expand the reach of the Network by identifying new and relevant audiences, with a key focus on diversity and inclusion. 
  • Regularly report to the National Talent Academy Network of managers hitting specific KPI’s on marketing and PR activity.  
  • KPI’s will range across a wide spectrum and will include increased sign-up to courses, increased engagement with social media, increased newsletter signups, web analytics, digital marketing and social media performance, and press coverage. 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated public relations experience 
  • Editing and writing skills: You need to devise and edit content for various media channels – digital and press.  
  • Excellent attention to detail and superb proofing skills 
  • Good working knowledge of Mailchimp, social media platforms and website content management systems 
  • Graphic design skills: Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator, Canva etc. 
  • Video editing skills desirable: Website and social media content will not just be text but frequently visual as well 
  • Web development skills desirable: A basic knowledge of HTML/JavaScript, strong knowledge of search engine optimization and advanced Word and PowerPoint skills 
  • Project management skills: self-starter with good time-management skills, working to deadlines 
  • An understanding of or affinity with the screen production sector desirable, i.e. film, television and animation experience would be an advantage 
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills 
  • Experience with Paid digital advertising  
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing work which is accessible and inclusive 
  • A knowledge of the Irish language Irish language media outlets / regional media outlets would be an advantage

Budget €50K including VAT.

Please send a submission proposal outlining your experience and approach, with key examples of how you have previously addressed the following areas in particular  

  • Reaching new and diverse audiences and tailoring communications accordingly 
  • Experience in delivering content strategy for an organisation or network with a wide range of communications needs 
  • Approach to reporting on KPIs and campaign success – frequency etc. 
  • Proposed budget allocation and breakdown 
  • Examples of work and case studies previously executed should be included 
  • A brief outline of how you would approach this account should be included 
  • It is not necessary to develop or submit new pitch work for the NTA
