Danú Media, in collaboration with the National Talent Academy for Film & TV and Greasán na Meán Skillnet, is thrilled to unveil the nine successful participants of the Greenlight Screenwriting Lab 2025.
Entering its third year, the Greenlight Screenwriting Lab stands as a premier TV Script Writing Development Programme tailored for Irish Screenwriters and Script Editors. Following a triumphant couple of years, which saw tangible outcomes for participants including job offers and the optioning of TV pilots, Danú Media, the National Talent Academy for Film & TV, and Greasán na Meán Skillnet are proud to join forces once again with Course Director Philip Shelley for the Greenlight Screenwriting Lab.
The Greenlight Screenwriting Lab presents a unique opportunity for six new Scriptwriters and three shadow Script Editors to receive mentorship from Philip Shelley and other industry professionals as they craft a new TV drama pilot script. Over the course of the next six months, the programme will offer hands-on industry-led training, script development and mentoring sessions, aimed at nurturing and upskilling a new generation of emerging scriptwriters and script editors. This initiative is poised to significantly contribute to and bolster the Irish Screen Industry.
Philip Shelley, renowned for his leadership of the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course spanning 14 years, says; 'It has been a real pleasure running the GREENLIGHT SCREENWRITING LAB with Danumedia for the last 2 years and I'm delighted to once again be involved in 2025. We have found and worked with some outstanding Irish writers and we are particularly excited to be working with the 6 writers selected for the course this year. The course also trains script editors and I feel confident that these script editors will be at the cutting edge of script development in Ireland over the coming years.'
Nadine Flynn, Head of Development at Danú Media commented, ‘We’re delighted to be able to bring Greenlight back for a third year, with an incredibly talented cohort. The last two years of Greenlight were a massive success, with participants going on to develop their craft and grow their career, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to have had a small part to play in that.’
