Established in 2022, the National Talent Academy for Film & TV Crew South (Crew Academy South) is an initiative of Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, managed by Film in Limerick/Innovate Limerick.

Crew Academy South recognises that there is a huge amount of talent in Ireland and that many individuals face barriers and lack clear pathways to inclusion within the film and television industry. The vision of the Crew Academies is to to develop a highly skilled crew base throughout the country and to further build crew and skills nationally.

The Academy will also focus on attracting next generation talent with a strong diversity agenda. Inclusive Opportunities for Diverse and Regional Talent – Collaborating towards Excellence, Focusing on recruitment, skills development and sectoral growth.

The Academy’s overarching aim is to address and support current skills gaps in the industry, drive more Irish crew from all backgrounds and disciplines into the sector and develop greater awareness of the Film and TV sector as a career path.

Through a range of programmes, Crew Academy South seeks to engage with and support our existing crew and new and original national and diverse crew, to provide them with opportunities that will allow them to access and progress within the Film & TV industry and achieve long term career goals.

Film in Limerick

Film in Limerick is the regional film office for the Mid-West region, covering the counties of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary. We promote and support filming in the region as well as running training and training initiatives to develop local creative talent and crew.

Film in Limerick is a project of Innovate Limerick / Limerick City and County Council and was developed to support the region’s rapidly growing film and TV industries.

We work closely with our partners Screen Ireland, Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board, Troy Studios and the local councils in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary to develop the sector.
