The National Talent Academy VFX and CMAI are hosting this Production Masterclass aimed at VFX producers, coordinators, and mid-level production managers looking to enhance their skills in managing VFX projects.
The part-time upskilling course is designed to provide VFX production professionals with advanced training in managing visual effects projects using Flow, an industry-standard production management tool.

Through a masterclass setting, participants will receive guidance on optimizing their current workflows, handling complex production challenges, and maximizing the potential of Flow for efficient project delivery.
Participants will attend four 2-hour evening sessions, where they will engage in in-depth discussions, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions led by Sara Coca. The course is designed to be highly interactive, with opportunities for participants to present their current projects, receive personalised feedback, and gain practical advice tailored to their specific production needs.

Course Objectives:
• To deepen participants’ understanding of Flow’s capabilities and how to leverage them for effective VFX production management.
• To provide expert guidance on optimising current workflows, with a focus on real-world application and problem-solving.
• To enhance participants’ skills in project tracking, resource management, and team collaboration using Flow.
• To offer personalized advice and feedback on participants’ ongoing projects, helping them address specific production challenges.
Course Structure:
Week 1: Introduction to Advanced Flow Features and Best Practices in Production
Week 2: Optimising Workflow Efficiency: Project Tracking, Task Management, and Resource Allocation
Week 3: Managing Complex Productions: Handling Multiple Teams, Departments, and Pipelines
Week 4: Finalising and Delivering Projects: Quality Control, Client Collaboration, and Post-Mortem Analysis
Throughout each session, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share their current project status, and receive direct feedback from the tutor. This interactive approach ensures that the course content is immediately relevant and applicable to participants’ ongoing work.
Participants are encouraged to bring their ongoing projects for review and discussion, allowing the tutor to provide targeted feedback and practical advice.
Application Process:
Participants should have an understanding of VFX production and some prior experience with Flow (ShotGrid). The course is designed for those looking to refine and enhance their existing skills.
Interested candidates should submit a brief outline of their current role and responsibilities in VFX production, along with a description of a current or upcoming project they wish to focus on during the course.
