The National Talent Academy for Animation, in association with Cartoon Saloon, is delighted to launch our TV Paint Training for Clean Animation Professionals workshop with Kevin Condron.

 

Course Overview:

TV Paint is a complete digital solution for professional 2D animation projects. This course is aimed at Clean Animation professionals (ideally traditional Animators and Clean Up artists) who are already proficient and have worked professionally in similar animation packages.

 

Successful applicants will learn:
 

  • TV Paint Workspace & Tools

  • Custom Brushes & Line styles

  • Scene Setup

  • Clean Animating: Keys to Inbetweens

  • Saving & Exporting

 

Course Details:

Dates: Saturday 28th June & Saturday 12th July. 

Time: 10am - 4pm.

Location: Cartoon Saloon Studios, Barrack Street, Kilkenny.

Cost: There is no cost to the participants but places are limited.

Places: 13.

Deadline: Thursday, 22nd of May at 5pm.

 

Candidates must:

  • Have a minimum of 1 year of professional experience in the animation industry.

  • Have a working knowledge of professional animation software packages.

  • Have hand drawing skills with strong life/figure drawing.

  • Have a knowledge of the principles of animation and animation timing charts.

  • Be a resident in Ireland and be available to attend each class in person in Kilkenny.

 

TV Paint - Course Breakdown
 

DAY 1:


TV Paint Workspace & Tools

We’ll go over the workspace panels, drawing tools & menus.


Custom Brushes & Line styles

We’ll have a look at using custom brushes, different line styles and how to import

them.


Scene Setup

You will learn how to set up your scene and how to import reference material, animatic,

sound files, layering and prepare your scene for Clean Animation.


 

Day 2:
 

Clean Animating:  Keys to Inbetweens

Once your scene is ready, we'll cover the scene brief and all the tools required for

Clean Animation, including the light table, image marks, flipping, custom brushes, line style,

keyboard/pen shortcuts, and demonstrate how to clean a shot from Keys to

Inbetweens with the understanding of animation charts.

 

Saving & Exporting

Once your Clean Animation is completed, you will learn how to prepare your final shot

for review.
