Course Profile:
This one-day workshop, run in partnership with The Hair Summit, BraidStop Academy & Ivy Wild Academy, is aimed at upskilling hairstylists working with textured Hair.
Course Content:
The course will cover the following:
A combination of theory, demonstration and a practical session with textured hair mannequinns and live models (if participants have someone suitable).
The class objective is to touch on all areas to give you some knowledge and skills to confidently approach someone with textured hair, it is advised to follow up with practice and further indebt training into the different areas of skill.
All participants must bring their kit including tail combs and clips. This is important as the tutor will be able to advise you on which products and tools in your specific kit are best for future use
Participant Profile:
This course is aimed at experienced and trainee Hair Stylists in the Film & TV Drama industry that wish to improve their skills working with textured hair.
Tutor Profile:
Moyin is a visionary hairstylist, braids educator, and beauty entrepreneur based in Ireland and the UK. She is the Founder and Creative Director of BraidStop Academy and Co-Founder of The Hair Summit, a leading Afro hair and braiding education platform that has hosted sold-out events in London and Dublin, attracting industry leaders and influencers. With a background in Biochemistry and a Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Trinity College Dublin, Moyin blends scientific insight with creative mastery. Her work has featured on Fashion Week runways, TV sets, music videos, and commercial campaigns, including collaborations with Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wizkid, and Brent Faiyaz. She has trained over 250 students in under a year and advocates for Afro hair representation through speaking engagements at institutions like the BBC and her role on the Youth Board of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.
Sherine Walrond is a UK-based Trichologist, braid educator, and founder of Ivy Wild Academy, a pioneering education platform dedicated to the science and artistry of textured hair. With a deep commitment to scalp health and protective styling, Sherine blends clinical expertise with creative technique to empower individuals and professionals alike. Through Ivy Wild Academy, she delivers hands-on workshops and masterclasses across cities like London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Coventry, focusing on braiding, cornrowing, and holistic hair care. Her work champions inclusive education, confidence-building, and community growth, making her a respected voice in the textured hair industry.
