The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to launch our Script Editing for Animation 101 Workshop with Katie Davies.

Course overview:

This one-day workshop is ideal for anyone looking to get into animation development, script editing and working with animation writers. It is also useful for new writers who are looking to hone their craft, but please note that this is not a writing workshop.

Together we will demystify the development process and wrestle with some fundamental questions, such as what is a script editor? What is a bible? What is the process from pitch to production? How does script editing in animation differ from live action?

This is a chance to cut through the scripting jargon and learn a little secret that all good writers know already - script editors are the unsung heroes of the development process. We are the wizards of the written word, so come along and learn some magic with experienced Script/Story Consultant and Animation Writer, Katie Davies.

On the course will we explore:

- The show bible

- The development process

- Story/series/character arcs

- Animation scripts, including case studies

- Target audience

- Good practice and giving notes well

- Script editor’s duties

- And much more…

Date: Saturday, November 22nd.

Time: 10am -  5pm.

Location: Dublin, (Location TBC).

Cost: There is no cost to the participants but places are limited.
