The National Talent Academy is delighted to collaborate with Cork International Film Festival to host an discussion centring the experiences of neurodivergent filmmakers and professional in the Irish screen industry, this session will explore their individual experiences and paths into film and how they navigated the screen industry as a neurodiverse individual, examining best practice and strategies to encourage neurodiverse voices to enter, and sustain a career in, filmmaking.
The event, hosted by Eleanor McSherry – Program Coordinator, Adult and Continuing Education (ACE), University College Cork, our with panellists:
- Georgia Kumari Bradburn – Co-director, The Stimming Pool
- Olaya Chesneau – Camera Department / Colourist
- Shannon Haly – Actor / Writer / Producer
This event is a part of First Take Industry Day as part of Cork International Film Festival. First Take is a training and development platform for newly established film professionals, film and media students and the wider film industry, which comprises case studies, presentations and panel discussions.
Its intention is to promote fresh thinking amongst emerging and working filmmakers, inspiring them to be proactive in creating and promoting their own film work.
First Take Industry Day is on Thursday 14 November, in the Triskel Christchurch, from 11:00 – 17:00. The event will be followed by a NTA networking reception from 17:00.
