INTRODUCTION TO ILLUSTRATING FOR COMICS

 

The National Talent Academy for Animation is thrilled to launch our online Introduction to Illustrating for Comics workshop with Ben Hennessy.

 

Course Overview:

This workshop is aimed at beginner-level artists and will provide them with materials and instructions on how to produce a comic book page and cover from concept to print. Digital materials will be provided for drawing thumbnails, comic book pages/covers and an invoice format.
 

This will include:

  • Getting familiar with comic book paneling.

  • Composition - we will produce thumbnails for interior pages and covers.

  • Taking those thumbnails through phases of penciling, inking and colouring.

  • We will discuss the production pipeline and working in a team. We will specifically cover the role of a comic book artist in that team.

  • Business practices. 

 

Course Details:

Date: Saturday 25th January, 10am - 4pm.

Location: Online.

Cost: There is no cost to the participants.

Places: 12.

Deadline: Thursday, 16th of January.

 

Requirements:

Candidates must be resident in Ireland.
