The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to launch our Intellectual Property Development Programme with Chris Dicker.
Course Overview:
The Intellectual Property Development Programme offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry expert Chris Dicker. Tailored for creators, writers, and animation professionals, this programme is designed to help you develop original, market-ready intellectual properties for TV, film, and digital platforms, with a strong focus on crafting authentic, compelling stories that resonate with a global audience.
From concept to reality, participants will gain essential skills in world-building, character creation, and story structure. The course emphasises developing stories that are relevant, universally appealing, and future-proof, ensuring they succeed in an ever-evolving entertainment landscape. Through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and real-world case studies, attendees will refine their pitching skills and create standout pitch decks that attract funding and partnerships.
This is your chance to develop high-quality intellectual properties under the guidance of a seasoned expert, build valuable industry connections, and bring your ideas to life on the global stage.
The course will begin with an in-person group session on Saturday, 17th May from 10am - 3pm. Followed by individual mentorship across eight weeks. The programme will conclude with a final in-person group session on Saturday, 19th of July from 10am - 3pm.
Course Details:
Dates: May 17th & July 19th (in person) with three hours of individual online mentorship between these two dates.
Location: Irish Film Institute, 6 Eustace St, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, D02 PD85.
Cost: There is no cost to the participants, but places are limited.
Places: 5
Deadline: Thursday, 24th of April at 5pm.
Requirements:
Candidates must be resident in Ireland and must not have received development funding before.
A 1 page summary of your project is required.
