Emerging Limerick Filmmakers with the support of the National Talent Academy for VFX is hosting a one-day in-person masterclass on the 28th September aimed at next generation filmmakers and professional filmmakers seeking to understand VFX workflows.
Location: Engine Building, Cecil Street, Limerick V94 TN32
Mario Beck worked as the pre-vis artist on Alien Romulus and The First Omen. He also was responsible for the virtual production in the TV show Moonhaven. In this workshop, Mario will explore the workflow from pre-vis to delivery of VFX shots.
This one-day masterclass will use Mario’s previous work as case studies while exploring emerging possibilities in the ever evolving field of VFX. It is aimed to equip participants with an understanding of the workflows required to integrate VFX practice into projects of different scales.
There will be two sessions throughout the day:
Session 1:
09.00 to 13.00: This session is for next generation filmmakers and will give practical insights into incorporating VFX techniques into projects.
Session 2:
14.00 to 18.00: This session is for professional filmmakers seeking to understand VFX workflows, how to integrate them into professional projects and how to incorporate their usage across different departments.
Course Content:
- Incorporating pre-vis into production workflow.
- Techniques for virtual production.
- The vfx pipeline: from conception to post-production.
- Industry standards and new opportunities in the field of vfx.
- Integrating vfx practice into projects.
Participant Profile
Session 1: Applicants must fall within the age range of 14 to 25 and should be able to indicate some experience in filmmaking.
The session is limited to 35 participants.
Session 2: Applicants should have professional experience in filmmaking across different departments. The application of VFX workflows effects different departments in different ways.
The session is limited to 40 participants.
