The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to announce a fantastic paid work placement opportunity for a Trainee Compositor with Studio Meala, compositing hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation in After Effects for a TV Paint pipeline.

 

Job Description:

As a Trainee Compositor, you are responsible for prepping and setting up scenes for the Compositing Team and applying basic treatments where needed in the required format and style.

 

This role is specifically aimed at individuals who do not have extensive experience in the animation industry.

 

Role-specific responsibilities:

Attention to detail is key, as a good eye will be helpful in catching errors or when initially getting familiar with the Compositing set-up process. The role will mainly be technical with a specific focus on Quality Control, but may include some more creative elements as the contract progresses.

 

Regular Communication and reporting to your supervisor and/or lead regularly to update them on your progress and highlight any potential issues that may affect your productivity or deadlines. The Trainee will be taught how to use tracking systems and will gain an understanding of approval processes and how to action feedback given.

 

As this is a developmental role, an aptitude for learning is very important. Trainees will be upskilled in After Effects, so familiarity with this programme is also a plus.

 

Key Details:

Start Date: Wednesday, December 10th.

Rate: €550.00 per week.

Contract Length: Five weeks, full-time.

Location: Remote-based or in-studio (Boyle, Co. Roscommon)

While no industry experience is required, we will look favourably on applicants who have a passion for animation and demonstrable experience working within a collaborative environment.
