The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to announce a fantastic paid work placement opportunity for an Ink + Paint Trainee with Studio Meala, colouring hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation for a ToonBoom Harmony pipeline.
Job Description:
As an Ink + Paint Artist, you are responsible for applying Ink + Paint to all animation in the required format and style, with particular attention being paid to quality control and orderly file management.
This role is specifically aimed at individuals who do not have extensive experience in the animation industry.
Role specific responsibilities:
Attention to detail is key as a good eye will be helpful catching errors or when initially getting familiar with models. The role will include creative aspects of colouring animation as well as the technical aspects of file management and handover.
Regular Communication and reporting to your supervisor and/or lead on a regular basis to update them on your progress and highlight any potential issues that may affect your productivity or deadlines. The Trainee will be taught how to use tracking systems and will gain an understanding of approval processes and how to action feedback given.
As this is a developmental role, an aptitude for learning is very important. Trainees will be upskilled in a ToonBoom Harmony pipeline so familiarity with this programme is also a plus.

Start Date: Immediate.
Rate: €550.00 per week.
Contract Length: Five weeks, full-time.
Location: Remote based or in-studio (Boyle, Co. Roscommon)

While no industry experience is required, we will look favourably on applicants who have a passion for animation and demonstrable experience working within a collaborative environment.
