The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to announce a fantastic paid work placement opportunity for a Lead Stop Motion Animator with Songway Films.

 

Job Description:

As a Lead Stop-Motion Animator, you are responsible for character animation in the required format and style, with particular attention being paid to storytelling with the puppets.

This is an upskilling role specifically aimed at individuals who do not have extensive experience in Stop-Motion or as a lead Stop-Motion Animator.

 

Role-specific responsibilities:

• Attention to detail is key, as a good eye will be helpful.

• Visual storytelling, Character animation.

• Industry experience is not essential, but candidates must be actively pursuing a career in character animation and provide a demo reel to demonstrate ability (personal and/or college work will be evaluated and considered).

• Demonstrate a high level of skill in animation and a clear understanding of animation principles.

• Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and development.

• Other attributes will be considered as beneficial to your application (e.g. writing/storytelling talent, illustration/drawing ability, versatility etc.)

 

As this is a developmental role, an aptitude for learning is very important. The successful applicant will be upskilled in the Stop-Motion studio pipeline, so familiarity with Dragonframe is also a plus.

 

Key Details:

Start Date: Immediate.

Rate: €550.00 per week.

Contract Length: Five weeks, full-time.

Location:  In-studio (Churchtown, Co. Dublin)
