The National Talent Academy for Animation is delighted to announce paid work placement opportunities for 2 Clean Up Artists with JAM Media on their new show Dembaya.

 

Dembaya -  Animated Short for RTÉ

In a West African village, Dayo and her siblings enjoy a carefree life until war disrupts their world. Fleeing through harsh landscapes, they find refuge in Dublin. Despite Dayo's struggles to adapt, her mother's cooking and a familiar song bring warmth and healing, bridging the gap between their past and present.

 

Overview

JAM are seeking applications from talented artists for an immediate start to join their fantastic team for a 2D animated short production. Production on this exciting new series is already underway. So if you are passionate about animation, they’d love to hear from you.

 

Job Description

The Clean Up Artists will work directly under the Director. The ideal candidates will have strong drawing skills as they are required to finalise animation to keep it 'on model’, as well as strong knowledge of character animation.

 

Start date: Immediate

 

Rate: €550 per week

 

Application Deadline: Tuesday January 23rd 5pm

 

Required Skills 

● Create clean line work for 2D animation using the initial rough character and prop designs

● Submit multiple design variations and revisions based on feedback from the Art Director/Director

● Ensure consistency and quality throughout your work

● Complete other design-related tasks and responsibilities as required for completion of the project

● Take direction and work collaboratively within a team

● Have the ability to communicate professionally and positively

● Have excellent attention to detail

● Well-organised with good time management skills

 

Key Requirements

● Good understanding of technical aspects of ToonBoom and animation production

● Strong knowledge of animation fundamentals and principles, walk cycles, lip sync, acting and character timing

● Attention to detail, problem solving ability and taking direction in order to work in a collaborative environment.

● Position open to Republic of Ireland residents only

● Roles available for both in house and remote working
