Expression of Interest | Multi-Cam Training for TV Directors

This course will be conducted in a fully functional multi-camera studio over 2 to 3 days and will offer a comprehensive curriculum aimed at enhancing the skills of aspiring TV directors.  

Please note by registering your interest you are NOT applying for a course.  This is to gauge the interest of crew in attending this type of course.  We would also like to hear what elements you would like to see on the course so that we know the training meets talents' needs as directly expressed by the crew. 

This in-person course is run by National Talent Academies Film & TV and National Talent Academy Crew West. 

 

Course Content:   

• A one-week intensive training session under the guidance of an experienced instructor. 

• Opportunity to direct scenes from preselected scripts. 

• Opportunity to work in collaboration with a professional editor in an edit suite. 

• Set will be crewed by a mixture of tutoring HODs and trainees to provide an opportunity for training across the departments. 

 

Proposed Dates/Duration: 

This in-person course is scheduled to run for 2-3 days, with an additional one weeklong boot camp, and is set to take place in Spiddal, Galway, around March/April 2024. 

 

Who Can Apply: 

This course is recommended for emerging and established directors that have a keen interest in moving from Shorts or Features in TV. It is also suitable for crew trainees across the several departments.

Applicants must habitually be resident in the regions (outside Dublin/Wicklow) and/or identify as diverse. Diverse applicants can reside regional or in Dublin and Wicklow.

Selection on courses/programmes will be based on the quality of the application and industry experience relevant to the course and participant profile.  We do not accept CVs so please make sure you outline all relevant experience in the application form.
