Training Proposal:

This course will be designed to equip trainees with the essential skills and knowledge required to perform effectively on a film set environment within the camera department. The course aims to provide foundational training that prepares individuals for entry-level positions by fostering job readiness and adaptability in fast-paced production settings.

Proposed course content:

  • Overview of the Camera department.
  • Practical use of equipment most often used on set.
  • How to prep the gear as Camera Trainee and 2nd AC.
  • Daily Set Workflow.
  • How to handle and clean cinematography lenses.
  • How to change lenses in different scenarios. (raining, camera on a box, camera on a head).
  • Marking actors.
  • How to use the clapperboard.
  • Camera Notes.
  • How to stand by on set as 2nd AC.
  • Communications & scheduling.
  • Adapt to the dynamic and fast-paced nature of film and television production environments .
  • Equipment cleaning, inventory, and rental returns.
  • Industry relationships and career strategies.
Participant Profile:

This course is ideal for Camera Trainees/2nd ACs looking to enhance their on-set abilities, ensuring they are well-prepared for the demands of professional film and television productions.
