Screenwriting Masterclass with Sarah Gordon at Disappear Here Festival 

  

National Talent Academy for Film and TV Drama is delighted to announce a Screenwriting Masterclass with Sarah Gordon (Co-writer, Aontas), which will take place as part of the Disappear Here Film Festival. 

The 9th annual Disappear Here Film Festival will take place in Ballyliffin, Co. Donegal from October 3rd to 5th 2025. Sarah will cover a number of topics over the course of the masterclass, including: 

• Story Fundamentals: Breaking down what makes a compelling story  
• Writing visually for the Screen: Understanding how scripts translate into shots and scenes  
• Dialogue and Subtext: Crafting authentic voices for characters  
• From Script to Screen: Understanding the practical side, formatting, writing with budget in mind, and collaborating with directors/producers.  
• Writing across Borders - Navigating the opportunities/challenges in a cross-border context.  
• NTA Greenlight Screenwriting Lab - How development programmes support emerging writers. 

 

This masterclass is recommended for new and emerging writers of all ages.

 

Tutor Profile: 

Sarah Gordon is a Belfast-based writer and director working across Film, TV and children’s content. She was part of BBC Writers room’s ‘Drama Room’ in 2021/22 and National Talent Academy/Danú Media’s Greenlight Screenwriting Lab, in 2024, guided by Philip Shelley, where she developed a TV pilot for a new comedy thriller called COO-COO. 

Her first feature, as co-writer and exec producer, Aontas (Púca Pictures) will screen as the opening film at Disappear Here Festival 2025.

The Masterclass will take place on Saturday 4th October, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
