First aid Responder is the only first aid course in Ireland that is recognised by the HSA. The
health and safety authority (HSA) outline what health and safety measures must be in place for businesses and this course is the one they require/recognise. Companies don’t need everyone to have first aid responder to be compliant, usually a % of staff will be first aid responders and % will be basic first aid, a one day course providing a cert of attendance.
If any legal issues arises with a company, for example they are brought to court as a result of an accident on the premises , this course is the only course a court will recognise.
First aid responder is certified by PHECC, the pre hospital emergency care council, a
government agency who govern pre hospital standards and training.
